Basin Conference Brings Oil Industry to Bismarck
In May, the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference will be held at the Bismarck Civic Center, along with around 2,000 attendees, from across the oil industry. The conference revolves around discussions and workshops on the drilling issues specific to the Williston Basin, and several technical aspects of the oil industry in the region. Sessions will cover different levels of exploration, production and transportation, and are tailored toward geologists, engineers and pipeline companies.

TransCanada to consider US pipeline 'onramp'
TransCanada executives said Wednesday they will consider letting Montana and North Dakota crude oil onto a proposed pipeline to the Gulf of Mexico, after hearing demand for such a project from U.S. oil producers. Calgary-based TransCanada Corp. aims to start construction this year on the 1,980-mile Keystone XL pipeline.

Williston Basin Petroleum Conference Attracting Oil Industry Leaders
The North Dakota Petroleum Council will host the 18th annual Williston Basin Petroleum Conference and Expo in Bismarck May 2 - 4, drawing about 2,000 industry officials and 300 exhibitors.

Hoeven, Levings sign continuance of State-Tribal Oil/Gas Tax Agreement

New rail facility moving ND oil to Oklahoma
EOG Resources Inc., of Houston, said the first shipment from its new terminal in northwestern North Dakota is due in Oklahoma on Monday, after a four-day trip. The company has said the terminal near Stanley is capable of loading 60,000 barrels of oil onto one 100-car unit train each day.

First train with EOG Resources Bakken crude oil departs Stanley, ND, for Oklahoma
The first train to transport crude oil for EOG Resources, Inc. and its subsidiary companies (EOG) departed from Stanley, North Dakota on December 31, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. Central Time for the approximate four-day trip to Stroud, Okla. where it will be unloaded and transported to market via a new 17-mile pipeline to a terminal in Cushing, Okla.

ND natural gas pipeline nears completion
A mid-January completion date is slated for a $45 million pipeline that will feed North Dakota natural gas into an existing line that moves the gas to Chicago. The Prairie Rose Pipeline will transport some natural gas from the state's oil patch that is being flared, said Justin Kringstad, director of the North Dakota Pipeline Authority.
