The North Dakota Petroleum Council presented their Outstanding Public Service Award to Representative Glen Froseth at the Petroleum Council’s 26th Annual Meeting in Medora. Froseth is from Kenmare, ND and represents District 6 in the North Dakota House of Representatives.
Bob Mau, President of Eagle Operating in Kenmare and past Chairman of the North Dakota Petroleum Council, presented the award to Froseth. Mau said, “During the 2007 session, Representative Froseth was a key advocate for our industry on numerous issues. He has been a strong advocate for our industry for many years and this past session he was instrumental in the passage of an oil tax bill to help spur investment and further research into the Bakken Play. He also supported several other key legislative issues for of the Petroleum Council including the creation of the Pipeline Authority, continuation of the shallow gas tax holiday, and a sales tax exemption to spur investment in new and expanding gas plants and refineries in the state.”
“Representative Froseth has been active in the Kenmare community for 30 years. His commitment to public service to the state and the community have made a difference and improved the business climate within the state where we live and operate our businesses. It is our honor to present him with this well-deserved award,” said Mau.
Representative Froseth has served 16 years in the House of Representatives. He spent seven sessions on the Industry, Business, and Labor Committee; five sessions on the Political Subdivisions Committee; including three as Chairman; two sessions on the Government and Veterans Affairs Committee; one on the Agriculture Committee; and served on the Finance and Taxation Committee in 2007. Froseth is the former owner and publisher of the Kenmare News and founder of Greater Northwest Publishing, Inc. in Minot, North Dakota.
North Dakota Petroleum Council’s Public Service Award is designed to acknowledge and reward legislators, elected officials, and other public servants who go beyond the normal call of duty to make our state a better place to live and work.
The recipients of this award are selected for their excellence in public service and for their efforts to improve the business climate in the state while ensuring that all parties are treated fairly and rules and policies are followed.
