First Ever NDPC Scholarship Winners |

Roy Neset Jr. and Michael Totenhagen are the first recipients of the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s scholarships. This scholarship was established to support students who are pursuing a post secondary education in geology, engineering, processing plant technology, science, technical skills or other careers related to the oil and gas industry.  Roy Neset Jr., a sophomore geology major at Minot State, is returning from Iraq with the 164th Engineer Battalion out of Minot, North Dakota. Neset has extensive experience working in the oil and gas industry as a rig hand, welder, relief consultant, and a mudlogger.  Michael Totenhagen is a senior geology major at NDSU. Totenhagen has previously interned as a mine geologist with Hibbing Taconite Company out of Minnesota and is interning, in North Dakota, as a field engineer with Baker Hughes-Inteq, an oil field service company, this summer.
