Bakken Classic Fishing Derby raises $24k for habitat and outdoor access projects
The North Dakota Petroleum Council hosted its 6th Annual Bakken Classic Fishing Derby, raising more than $24,000 for habitat and wildlife projects. Ninety teams participated in the 7th annual event, which took place on Wednesday, July 18.
The winning team of this year’s tournament was Kris Heidelberger, Zach Jackson and Tanner Jessen of Blackwell Electric with 17.74 pounds. Rounding out the top five teams were:
2nd: Ryan Wilson, Jason Sinness, Bronc Ladue – 17.05 lbs
3rd: Chad Brown, Trevor Bohannon, Zach Schmitz – 16.77 lbs
4th: Jason Haugen, Alex Vournas, Tyler Dokken – 16.47 lbs
5th: Ryan Kopseng, Brian Mortenson, Tony Hauck – 15.49 lbs

BIG FISH WINNERS
- Trevor Vannatta, Bryan Lien, Brandon Nelson – 6.70 pounds
- Jordan Vance, Jacob Renne, Ben Tarap – 5.74 pounds
