Slawson Exploration helps Van Hook Rural Water Project with major donation

Slawson Exploration Company presented a check for $50,000 to the Mountrail County Park Board to fund the Rural Water Project taking place at Van Hook Recreation Area on Wednesday, July 26.

Todd Slawson, president of Slawson Exploration Company presented the check and stated that, “…When the proposal for Rural Water at Van Hook came across my desk it was a no-brainer. This type of project that serves a community as a whole is exactly the type thing that our company is proud to support.”

Mountrail County Park Board Chairman Eric Jaeger said that the Park Board was very grateful for the donation as it not only makes Rural Water immediately available to the park but it also frees up Park Board funds for other important improvement projects. He thanked Slawson Exploration Company for their continued support of the Van Hook Recreation Area and thanked them for being a “good neighbor.”

As photos were being snapped, boring and trenching equipment was on site at the Recreation Area, digging in the lines for the new water kiosk. Justin Ritts, Van Hook Recreation Area manager, is overseeing the project and estimates that the kiosk will be in service by the end of August and the West Fish Cleaning Station may be connected sooner than that.
